The Donation of Plasma

May 16, 2020 | Covid-19, Memoir

We have antibodies

in our convalescent plasma.

We survivors of COVID-19

recline on a chaise lounge of sorts

for a beautiful day at the beach

in a world we used to know;

a world we will someday know again.

The machine withdraws our blood

drains straw-flavored liquid with precious antibodies

returns red cells to our thirsty veins.

We feel(felt) life draining from us.

Now we feel the thrill of getting(giving) it back.

Rinse

and repeat.
