Mad Hatters

Suddenly the city is inundated with an invasion of guys in corrupted fedoras, strutting around as if they stepped off the set of C movies; descendants of the gangs of New York, extras from old remakes of the Thomas Crown affair. Some seem pushed from the likes of a Magritte painting, hungry for an apple. They’re wrapped in long coats with collars fluffed from the hair they shave from the sides of their streamlined skulls. Comb-overs are modeled after photos passed down from Vitalic ancestors that wandered the same streets with cryptic messages embroidered between the shoulder blades. Torn underwear has been around for decades and some of these lads continue to wear grandpa’s wife beaters.
